Congress Court Apartments: An Urban Reimagination of Boston City Hall Plaza
Appropriately scaled urban density is necessary to create successful gathering spaces for communities within the city
center while also reinforcing pedestrian urban sequences. The slope down to Faneuil Hall affords double-fronted
apartment buildings: On Congress Street, a grand commercial street front; on the upper side, a safe outdoor space for
residents living in the heart of the city and an intimate entry to luxury housing. This project seeks to reclaim dignified
residential housing in the compact urban environment by emphasizing outdoor space, natural light, and ventilation.
